Option 3 - Fearful-Behavior Camp

Five Weeks

This intensive training program is perfect for those looking to invest in a top-of-the-line education. Dogs with serious behavioral issues, or extreme fear issues are also placed in Behavior Camp.  Behavior Camp has extensive follow-up to achieve the best possible result for your dog and family.

RECOGNIZE THAT ABNORMAL FEAR IS NOT A TRAINING PROBLEM

Abnormal fear and anxiety—where the response is disproportionate to the actual threat—sometimes stem from actual trauma, but very often are the result of poor or incomplete socialization under the age of 16 weeks. Sometimes they have a genetic component, too: you can do everything right and still end up with a fearful dog. These deficits can’t be completely taught away, and while great strides can be made, your dog will likely always need some degree of help in managing his environment.

Types of behavioral problems addressed:

  • Fearful, flighty, inability to handle environmental pressure
  • Extreme fear/lack of confidence
  • Under socialized
  • Leash reactivity, dogs or people

  • Target Dog Aggression issues (due to fear) – attacking dogs, biting dogs, improper greeting and social skills

  • Target/Fear and the residual issues from those states of mind – biting, growling
  • Target issues with resource guarding (If applicable)

  • Leadership skills with your dog so your dog understands proper pack order with humans

Training Camp teaches good dogs to be great dogs.

If you have a dog or puppy and are looking to improve some of their manners, and learn how to better communicate with your dog, then this is for you. Bootcamp is also a great way to provide general socialization.

Board & Train

"RESIDENT CAMP TRAINING"

There are five types of Resident Camps, each camp is structured around  training goals or the types of issues needing to be addressed. Resident Camp is professional help for you and your dog.
Sometimes called "In-Kennel" or "Board & Train" Camp is where we do all of the training for you, and then we will teach you how to maintain it. Your dog resides at Powerhouse K9 Bootcamp where your dog attends daily training session and your dog is sociaized with other dogs.

Training can happen more quickly because the “conversation” between the dog and trainer is very clear.  A Board & Train can be very helpful to jump start a dog’s training.

Upon completion of bootcamp, the training that your dog received is transitioned back to you.
Resident Camps’ success lies within the fact it is more effective to train you with a dog we  have already trained and built a foundation with. We emphasize “Follow-Up” with you to ensure you are able to continue with what your dog has learned
.  In addition, the Saturday morning Bootcamp Client Maintanence group class is included with all Board & Train packages.

PLEASE NOTE;  ONCE WE COMPLETE THE EVALUATION OF YOUR DOG, WE WILL THEN BE ABLE TO SUGGEST A PACKAGE FOR YOU BASED ON YOUR DOG'S NEEDS, THE SPECIFIC ISSUES YOU ARE HAVING AND THE GOALS YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE. THE EVALUATION IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO ACCEPTING A DOG FOR TRAINING.

THE EVALUATIONS ARE $100.00 (ONE HOUR AT OUR FACILITY)

NOTE: For a Board & Train reservation, we are booking out one to two month in advance.

For an evaluation, we typically book out  one to two weeks.
